What to expect from Condition Monitoring
Effective monitoring is crucial for the quality assurance and early error detection thus avoiding subsequent damage and costs. Our comprehensive monitoring system includes various machine components to ensure that operation runs smoothly and production downtimes can be avoided. A variety of different components are monitored on different machines.
Condition Monitoring examples
On the TruLaser machine, effective monitoring of the lateral air blast nozzle prevents quality problems in the thick sheet in sufficient time, by detecting slag contamination at an early stage. Early error detection on the cutting unit ensures that service engineers can implement work efficiently. The degree of contamination and adverse effects are checked during this process. Monitoring different gas pressures prevents the contamination of optical components, which can prevent high subsequent costs and the possible complete failure of the cutting unit.
On the TruMatic machine, the vacuum pump as well as the axes and drives are monitored, amongst other things. The unexpected failure of the CO2 vacuum pump on the resonator can cause the failure of the laser beam. Possible idle states are prevented by monitoring this pump. Faults on axes and drives, such as excess temperatures, jamming, or an excessive torque are detected at an early stage to prevent any subsequent damage.
On the TruBend machine, the degree of contamination of the sheet metal, filters, and central lubrication is monitored. The Technical Guide reminds the customer in good time to replace filters and can thus reduce and prevent any restrictions. Problems on the central lubrication can, for example, be caused by the air pressure, empty lubricant tank, and contamination and can be recognized at an early stage by Condition Monitoring.
