Create top-quality 3D components faster

The highly productive, partially automated TruPrint 5000 3D printing system provides the ideal basis for industrial series production. With optional features, including 500°C-preheating and the fullfield multilaser with three 500-watt TRUMPF fiber lasers, you are perfectly equipped to handle even the most demanding industrial applications. The machine quickly and reliably produces high-quality components made of different metallic materials – and in doing so meets the high quality requirements in tool and mold making, including by means of 3D printing on preform blanks, in aerospace and medical technology. As an option, the entire process chain can be carried out in a shielding gas atmosphere: sieving, printing, cooling, depowdering. Combined with external part and powder management and the monitoring solutions from TRUMPF, it is predestined for industrial additive series production.

Thanks to the Preform option, the TruPrint 5000 supports hybrid component production. For this purpose, the component structures to be additively manufactured are applied to a blank. The innovative option is particularly well-suited for simple handling in tool and mold making.

Maximum productivity

Thanks to the highly dynamic scan strategies with SCANahead, three 500 watt full-field multilasers simultaneously scan the entire build area and thus guarantee optimal surface quality without seams. In addition, the positioning of the laser beam sources is automatically monitored and corrected if necessary.

High component quality

Optional preheating of the substrate plate to up to 500°C ensures a high component quality and a robust LMF process. All important process steps can be performed under shielding gas.

Automatic process start

The automatic process start allows for fast set-up and offers a high degree of process reliability.

Hybrid manufacturing thanks to Preform

Thanks to the preform option, hybrid component production is supported. By using preform blanks you save time and money and at the same time enjoy the advantages of additive manufacturing.

External part and powder management

The TruPrint 5000 enables you to work parallel to production: the set-up process is optimized, productivity is increased and contact with powder is avoided.

Industrial monitoring

Keep an eye on the powder coating, weld pool, machine status, and productivity at all times and have full control over the component quality, layer-by-layer.

The TruPrint 5000 is a partially automated, highly productive 3D printing machine. Once the build cylinders are put into the TruPrint 5000, the machine takes over the start of the LMF process using automatic process start. This replaces the otherwise manual set up and increases the process reliability.
Our quick-change build and powder cylinders shorten setup times while increasing productivity and machine utilization. This is achieved by the still hot components cooling down outside the machine in closed cylinders under shielding gas in a cooling station.

Optional preheating of up to 500°C means you can use a wide range of materials and ensures better component quality

Through optional preheating of up to 500°C you can achieve a visibly better component quality for many applications and materials from sectors such as tool and mold making, the aerospace industry, and the medical industry. This means you benefit from fewer support structures and stress cracks in titanium (Ti6AI4V). Furthermore, certain materials such as H11 (1.2343) and H13 (1.2344) can only be processed at temperatures of 500°C.

Hybrid manufacturing thanks to Preform

Gain an advantage through the clever 3D-compatible design with the combination of manufacturing techniques: Print your additive structure on top of cost-effective, conventionally manufactured preform blanks. The HMI is used to position the geometry to be printed on the blank - manually or automatically, depending on the configuration. You can visualize the precision fit via the Powder Bed Monitoring camera. Use the option for the sustainable reprocessing of individual components or for series production. Enjoy the benefits of high-quality, reproducible component quality.

Melt pool monitoring
Melt pool monitoring

Take advantage of a detailed quality check and documentation, layer-by-layer. This enables you to detect process deviations early on and to visualize areas of the component that are critical. In addition, you can automatically analyze the data against a reference part. You can also monitor all of the weld pools in parallel with ease.

Interchangeable cylinder principle on the TruPrint machines from TRUMPF
Integrated interchangeable cylinder principle

As the build and supply cylinders can be exchanged quickly, cylinder set up, powder removal and cooling of hot build jobs can be performed parallel to the LMF process. This reduces idle time and non-productive time and increases the machine's productivity.

Industrial part and powder management
Industrial part and powder management

Take advantage of setup and powder removal for one or more machines, all parallel to production. Short throughput times for large powder volumes and a closed powder circuit provide a high degree of productivity and operator safety. The central components of the sieving station, powder removal station, and powder silo provide the basis for series production on an industrial scale. Optionally, the entire process chain can be run under a shielding gas atmosphere: sieving, printing, cooling, depowdering.

Touchpoint Print user interface

Touchpoint Print is the simple interface for operating your 3D printing system. Navigation follows an intuitive logic and can be operated with touch gestures such as swiping. The views are reduced to the essential items, and realistic 3D visualizations simplify setup operations on the machine.
