Flexure joint for a motor screw bearing
The conventional production of screw bearings takes up to an hour to ensure it is assembled and aligned correctly. In contrast, the 3D-printed solid-state joint does not need to be aligned and also reduces the load on the motor. The amorphous metal ZR01 was analyzed for this flexure joint. Using this material led to a reduction in engine load of around 20%.
